Something hit me today and my mind has been tangled up in it every since.
Why is it that when we are young we do not care what ourselves or the kids we play with look like or what size they are? Back then you didn’t care, you were all about living and having fun! Now, if you have a few extra pounds on you, people look at you differenately. You are all of a sudden fat, unattractive and gross. They do not care if you have a kicking personality or that you could be the true friend that would always be there no matter what.
I wish everyone could go back to a child’s mindset when it comes to this kind of thing. You didn’t judge people based on looks or how much money they had. You just cared if they would push you on the swing on the playground or be your team mate when you went to play kickball.
A line from one of my fave movies (Yes Man) comes to mind here…
See what I mean? When you are a kid you are out for adventure, you are out to live life and you could have really cared less if someone was a size 2 or 22. You saw past that…
You knew when you were little that that friend of yours would play with you, now that you are grown, you forget that they are still the same person. Now you are a size 1 and they are a 24 and you distant yourself from them because they aren’t a “skinny bitch” like yourself. Big deal… Did you forget along the way of growing up that they are still that same person underneathe??
Random kind of rant I know, but seriously… This kind of hit me and I know that there are more people other than just myself that has went through this kind of thing. Instead of growing up, some people need to take a step back and remember what it was like to be a kid again. Be a little childish! LOL
